WISH Whole-Mount in situ Hybridization

Whole mount in situ hybridization (ISH) is a very informative approach for visualizing gene expression patterns over the entire embryo or tissue 3D structure. However, conventional whole mount ISH procedures are lengthy and require extensive optimization. During the last few years, our customers have shown very innovative approaches to applying the RNAscope™ ISH technology on whole mount samples:

Post-mortem Brain Tissue

Post-mortem Brain Tissue

Studies on the postmortem human brain have become a very important tool for understanding the neurobiology of neurodegenerative diseases or psychiatric disorders. Histology and immunohistochemistry are sometimes challenging due to technical limitations

mRNA in post mortem tissues is rapidly degraded after death and
formalin-based fixatives and embedding techniques can impair immunoreactivity.
