Who can enter:
Entries must be submitted by a current Advanced Cell Diagnostics (ACD) or Bio-Techne customer. Images must consist of in situ hybridization detection results using the RNAscope™ technology (i.e., RNAscope or BaseScope™ assays). Participants must at least 18 years of age. Individuals affiliated with ACD or Bio-Techne, including employees, interns, volunteers, and research associates are not eligible to enter. ACD, a Bio-Techne brand, will determine winner eligibility in its sole discretion.
Entry Guideline:
The contest begins on January 1, 2024 and ends on December 13, 2024. All entries must be received through ACDbio.com. Images can be submitted in all forms of magnification using either ACD’s fluorescent or chromogenic assays. Entries must be submitted electronically as a JPEG, TIFF, or PNG file. Cropped images can be submitted. We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos. Minor adjustments, including sharpening, contrast, toning, slight color adjustment and conversion to grayscale are acceptable. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.
Entries must be composed of original, authentic, unpublished material and must be the sole property of the entrant, not previously submitted to any other contest or publication journals. Published material includes that which has been posted on the World Wide Web. This includes, but is not limited to, Facebook, or any other social network Website where photos have been posted and shared.
Judging:
Entries will be judged based on creativity, quality, originality, and scientific impact of the project.
A total of 12 winners will be selected and one grand prize winner will be chosen at the end of the contest. ACD will notify winners via the contact information provided at the time of the entry; ACD may disqualify anyone who fails to respond to the notification within 10 business days.
Online Features:
ACD will display all winning entries on the website at the end of each month. Submitted entries may also be displayed in a publicly accessible contest archive. Such selections will be made in ACD’s sole discretion.
Conditions of entry:
By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest and states that he or she is at least 18 years old. Winners will be selected by a panel of ACD’s scientific leadership team. ACD will determine winners’ eligibility in its sole discretion. ACD will notify winners via the contact information provided at the time of entry. The winning images will be featured on ACD’s 2025 calendar. The contestant certifies that he/she is the sole creator of the submitted image. As the contestant, you retain your rights to your photograph; however, by entering the contest, you grant ACD a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion. ACD will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses. Entrants may not submit materials that introduce any software viruses, worms or other programs designed to damage software, hardware or telecommunications equipment or are off-topic, partisan-political, contain advertising, nudity, personal attacks or expletives, or is otherwise abusive, threatening, unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, libelous, obscene, false, sexually explicit, or that infringes on the rights of any third party. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. ACD reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding the winners, ACD reserves the right to award or not award the prizes in its sole discretion. ACD reserves the right to disqualify any entrant whose entry or conduct appears in any way to: inhibit the enjoyment of others; tamper with the competition; violate these rules or other applicable law or regulation; infringe on the rights of third parties; or act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. DECISIONS OF ADVANCED CELL DIAGNOSTICS ARE FINAL AND BINDING.
