喉鳞状细胞癌组织 HPV16 和 p16 表达的临床意义

目的探讨喉鳞状细胞癌(LSCC)中人乳头瘤病毒(HPV)及细胞周期相关蛋白p16的表达及意义。方法收集北京同仁医院2005-01-01-2011-12-31 LSCC病例资料332例,回顾性分析其临床病理学特点,采用聚合酶链反向点杂交(PCR-RDB)方法检测HPV16 DNA,构建组织芯片并采用免疫组织化学法染色观察细胞周期相关蛋白p16的表达,比较HPV阳性组和HPV阴性组临床病理学特点的差异,分析高危型HPV16与p16的关系;采用RNAscope方法检测HPV16 E6/E7 mRNA的表达,观察在LSCC中是否具有转录活性的HPV,从而明确LSCC是否与HPV有关联。结果在332例LSCC中有45例(45/332, 13.6%)检测到高危型HPV,其中40例(40/332, 12.0%)检测到HPV16,HPV 16阳性与淋巴结内肿瘤囊性转移有关联,χ~2=9.774,P=0.004;T_1患者HPV16阳性率高于T_4患者,P=0.011;组织学分级也对患者是否表达HPV16 DNA有一定的影响,P=0.049。与LSCC患者年龄、性别、是否吸烟/饮酒、TNM分期及肿瘤大小等均无统计学意义的关联,均P0.05。

Loss of renal olfactory receptor 1393 leads to improved glucose homeostasis in a type 1 diabetic mouse model

Renal olfactory receptor 1393 (Olfr1393) is an understudied sensory receptor that contributes to glucose handling in the proximal tubule. Our previous studies have indicated that this receptor may serve as a regulator of the sodium glucose co-transporters (SGLTs) and contributes to the development of glucose intolerance and hyperfiltration in the setting of diet-induced obesity. We hypothesized that Olfr1393 may have a similar function in Type 1 Diabetes.

Relationship between Serum Elabela Level and Hypertensıve Nephropathy

To determine the difference in serum Elabela level in hypertensive patients with and without nephropathy compared to the healthy control group. Study Desing:  Cross-sectional descriptive study.Fırat University Medical School, Elazig, Turkey between December 2018 and November 2020.The cross-sectional descriptive study consisted of 37 patients with hypertensive nephropathy (group 3), 50 hypertensive patients without nephropathy (group 2), and 50 healthy controls (group 1). Hypertensive nephropathy was defined as serum creatinine ≥1.8 mg / dl or  GFR <40 ml / minute.

Biology and Cellular Tropism of a Unique Astrovirus Strain: Murine Astrovirus 2

Murine astrovirus 2 (MuAstV2) is a novel murine astrovirus recently identified in laboratory and wild mice. MuAstV2 readily transmits between immunocompetent mice yet fails to transmit to highly immunocompromised mouse strains-a unique characteristic when contrasted with other murine viruses including other astroviruses. We characterized the viral shedding kinetics and tissue tropism of MuAstV2 in immunocompetent C57BL/6NCrl mice and evaluated the apparent resistance of highly immunocompromised NOD- Prkdcem26Cd52Il2rgem26Cd22 /NjuCrl mice to MuAstV2 after oral inoculation.

Reviving through human hippocampal newborn neurons

Recent contradictory data has renewed discussion regarding the existence of adult hippocampal neurogenesis (AHN) in humans, i.e., the continued production of new neurons in the brain after birth. The present review revisits the debate of AHN in humans from a historical point of view in the face of contradictory evidence, analyzing the methods employed to investigate this phenomenon. Thus, to date, of the 57 studies performed in humans that we reviewed, 84% (48) concluded in favor of the presence of newborn neurons in the human adult hippocampus.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has resulted in a global health emergency. In addition to common respiratory symptoms, some patients with COVID-19 infections may experience a range of extra-pulmonary manifestations, such as digestive system involvement. Patients with COVID-19 have been reported to suffer from acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI) that is associated with disease-related severity and mortality. However, in the context of COVID-19, the exact cause of AMI has yet to be clearly defined.
