2021 Dec 8 - Using Digital Spatial Profiling for Transcriptomic Analysis of Neuronal Subpopulations
Kit Fuhrman, Ph.D.,
Senior Product Manager, Nanostring Technologies
Watch Video:
Anushka Dikshit, Ph.D.
Senior Scientist, Applications, Advanced Cell Diagnostics, a Bio-Techne brand
Outline:

Obtaining detailed molecular characterizations of neuronal populations is critical for understanding normal and pathological brain function. However, researchers working in this area are hindered by low-plex, low throughput, or an absence of spatial resolution. A combinatorial approach may be optimal for spatially-relevant whole-transcriptomic profiling.

In this webinar brought to you by ACD – a BioTechne brand and NanoString, Kit Fuhrman and Anushka Dikshit will discuss how to use RNAscope™ in situ hybridization and the GeoMx® Digital Spatial Profiler to profile excitatory and inhibitory neuronal populations within mouse brain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) sections.

Learning Objectives:
  • Performing spatial transcriptomic profiling of murine brain FFPE sections
  • Capturing dual ISH-IF images with the GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler to identify brain regions and neuronal subpopulations
  • How this workflow informs future profiling studies in murine neurological disease models
