Position Description

We seek a highly motivated and energetic Associate Scientist to join our PAS team. You will be a key member of the ACD Service Department, performing RNAscope assay services for industrial, pharmaceutical, and academic clients.  You will also have the opportunity to work closely with scientists and investigators from a broad customer base.  You must be willing to learn new techniques quickly and be able to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced and growing start-up environment.

Education Experience

  • A BS (with 3-4 years industry experience)/MS (with 1 years industry experience) in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology or related field
  • Experience in basic molecular biology techniques, microscopy and imaging a plus
  • Experience in histology and tissue/cell-based assays such as immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization is preferred
  • Experience working in a CRO or service environment is preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player and self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and automated RNAscope assays to evaluate client-provided tissue samples
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data
  • Perform digital slide scanning, imaging, and fluorescent microscopy to acquire data
  • Generate and create custom reports to deliver to clients
  • Sample inventory and maintain logs for slide tracking
  • Present at group meetings
  • Participate in teleconference meetings with industry, pharmaceutical, and academic clients
